Hindu Deities
Hindu Deities - A very simple and down to earth form of worshipping the natural elements like Sun and Earth dating back to the Indus Valley Civilization finally found way in the form of a huge pantheon of gods and goddesses of Hinduism. Advanced over many millennia, this plain worship turned into a complex system of myriad gods and goddesses. Each of these gods and goddesses are characterized by distinguished corporal aspects, characteristic attributes and roles.

There are around 3.3 millions of these deities that need to be worshipped on various occasions by the Hindus. A comprehensive count of these deities can only be developed by consulting the famous Hindu scriptures like Vedas, Puranas and some of the great epics like Ramayana and Mahabharata.

One very striking feature of these Hindu Gods is that each of them has a different cause for the evolution of their worship, find some references in texts, has a thrilling story of birth and accomplishments, has his/her own specific attributes and have their own unique importance in the Hindu scheme of worship.

These gods and goddesses also share a certain relationship with each other. It is not only the living beings but inanimate things like shaligrams and shivlingas also are representative of Gods. Apart from human some other forms of life are also worshipped as Hindu gods like snakes, bulls, cows and a lot more.
