Hazaribagh National Park, located in the Hazaribagh district, is spread over an area of 184 sq km and is much famous for its varied species of flora and fauna. Wild boar, sambar, sloth bear, chital, tiger, nilgai and panther are the chief attractions of the park. Steep hills, tropical forests, grass meadows mainly characterize the national park.
The USP of the park is tall watch towers that exist at the various vantage points. They offer the visitors the chance to watch the wildlife of the park from vantage points. Hazaribagh National Park, much like the Palamu National Park, is surrounded with tribal habitations.

The national park is just 19 km away from the Hazaribagh town, 235 km away from Patna, and 434 km away from Kolkata. It is well connected by rail, road and air. The nearest rail station is at Koderma (59 km) and the nearest airport is Ranchi (91 km).
