Agra does not need any introduction to anyone around the world, thanks to the heavenly Taj Mahal. City situated on the banks of river Yamuna has withstood a long history, Agra is mentioned in the Epic Mahabharata as Agravan (on the edge of forest). It became the capital of India under the rule of Sultan Sikander of Lodhi Dynasty in middle 16th Century, but the golden era of city arrived under mughal rule, being capital of the famous Mughal Emperors such as Akbar, Jahangir and Shah Jahan, Agra then known as Akbarabad was the cultural and political capital of large part of Indian sub-continent.
Emperor Shah Jahan immortalized his wife and his love by constucting what is now the most photographed building of the world, Taj Mahal. Even after the decline of Mughal empire the city was important military and political center for Jats and Maratha rulers who gained in power there.
Being enjoyed such prominence , Agra has quite a numerous attractions all around its perimeter, apart from Taj, Akbar's Tomb at Sikandra is considered the zenith of mughal architecture, Agra Fort, Fatehpur Sikri are few other destinations worth seeing.

Morning after the buffet breakfast at your hotel visit Fatehpur Sikri, former capital of great Mughal Emperor Akbar, Buland Darwaza, Kali Mata temple and White Marble Shrine of Great Sufi Saint Salim Chishti who blessed Emperor Akbar with a Son. Afternoon drive to Delhi.
