The town Narora is located on the banks of river Ganges, in district Bulandshahar, nearly 150 km from the National Capital Delhi. Narora is famous for its various Ghats as it is a important destination for the ritual of Ganga Snana by millions of pilgrims from nearby areas. For holy dip in the Ganges several ghats are Rajghat, Karnvaas, Narvar, Kalkatti, Ramghat etc.
The view form the Narora Dam is very beautiful and as such Narora Dam is also a site worth a visit. The barges and the roar of Ganga water flowing through the balasts must be felt and seen.
Narora is also a prominent place on Indian map due to the presence of a nuclear power plant. The first reactor was esablished in 1989 and second in 1991.
350 MW electricity is produced in both the reactors. The plant situated on the banks of river Ganga was the first of the modified CANDU design implemented by DAE and NPCIL
